“The Earth is 4.6 billion years old. Scaling to 46 years, humans have been here 4 hours, the industrial revolution began 1 minute ago, and in that time we’ve destroyed more than half the world’s forests.”—Greenpeace (via lepetitchatblanc)
A true Canadian “folkie” from the very early days and one of our finest songwriters around. The song takes me on a Capraesque like trip to my own home town in Northeastern Ontario. It’s always part of my Christmas playlists though not completely on point with all that some think is Christmas. Great lyrics and share it with you dear folks here.
She could do almost no wrong with me…well, almost — I caught her once in New York and she was having a very pitchy time but I only want to remember her like this —- Nina owns this one, so much so she gives it gravitas, deeper meaning and that very all important ingredient Soul to a very pale blue tune of Bros. Gibb. It’s my last no seasonal pick of the year too….back to my Supah Xmas Playlist next week! So it’s the Saturday Got Soul selection from the Flimwell Papers’ Music Corner. Peace, love and roast nuts, y’all!
